Restaurant Association of Ireland (RAI) calls on its members to cease use of plastic straws

The Restaurant Association of Ireland (RAI) has a membership of over 2,500 including restaurants, gastro-pubs and hotels.

The Restaurants Association of Ireland encourages its members to lead the charge in reducing the instance of non-biodegradable waste in the industry by banning single use plastic straws amongst its members. A plastic straw takes over 200 years to break down. RAI encourages businesses to adopt the use of paper and biodegradable alternatives to single use plastic items. Other countries and sectors have already taken action.
