An exciting new camp site will be officially launched later this month in Tipperary.  Caravantasia, the brainchild of Tom and Heather Pollard, is a new ‘glamping’ site located near Killenaule. Glamping is the name given to the new trend of ‘glamorous camping’, where people swap the mud and hardship of traditional camping for something a little more comfortable. At Caravantasia, guests will be able to stay in beautifully restored vintage caravans.

Located on a 23 acre farm in South Tipperary, and funded by the South Tipperary Development Company, Caravantasia will have 6 vintage caravans from the 60s and 70s that have either been restored to their original glory or updated in their own individual quirky style. The caravans sleep between two and four people.  Each caravan pitch has its own outside decking area with seating and umbrellas so guests can enjoy a barbeque in the peaceful surroundings, with just the sound of the birds in the background. The entire site is off-grid, and where power or hot water is needed, it is generated by solar energy. There are toilets, dressing rooms and hot showers on site.

The “Green House” is the site’s central, building and is a unique little wooden structure on stilts that will be used as the central point for meetings, workshops, talks and for socialising. Caravantasia has primarily been developed to cater for business and private events such as training courses, business team building days, family reunions, hen nights etc, but on some weekends in the summer the site will be open for individual bookings. If you fancy something a little different Caravantasia could be the place for you!
