LOCAL ECONOMIC & COMMUNITY PLAN FOR COUNTY TIPPERARY

Make sure you have your say in shaping the future Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP) for County Tipperary

Members of the public, community & voluntary organisations, businesses, business associations etc are now invited to participate in public consultation workshops with regard to the making of the Local Economic and Community Plan for Tipperary. This plan is being developed as per Section 128B of the Local Government Act 2001(inserted by Section 36 of the 2014 Act) by the newly established Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) and Tipperary County Council’s Economic Development and Enterprise Strategic Policy Committee.

It is very important to have your say in the development of this LECP as it will identify specific community, social and economic priorities for the county for the next six years. The expectation is that all community development spend associated with all Agencies working in the County will then agree to prioritise a proportion of their budgets to the identified priorities in a coordinated manner. A draft framework document in relation to the LECP has been developed in consultation with key stakeholders taking into account relevant national and local policy and research. The draft framework document focuses on what the Agencies perceive to be the key priorities for the social, community and economic development of the county.

You can feed into the development of the LECP by attending one of the following evening workshops from 7.15pm – 9.30pm:

Monday 26th January                    The Carraig Hotel, Carrick-on-Suir

Tuesday 27th January                  Anner Hotel, Thurles

Wednesday 28th January              Bru Boru, Cashel

Monday 2nd February                   Clonmel Park Hotel, Clonmel

Tuesday 3rd February                   Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh

These meeting are part of the first phase of the development of the LECP. Following these meeting a draft LECP will be developed and there will be further opportunities to feed into the draft plan.
